A Cessna 210B Centurion, N9735X, came down in a drainage while on approach to Camarillo Airport, California, USA. and overturned. Both occupants suffered serious injuries.

Arik Air flight WP740, a Boeing 737-700, suffered an engine failure with the loss of the engine inlet. The crew diverted to Benin City, Nigeria, where a safe landing was carried out.

On August 29, a Piper PA-23-250 Aztec, N930MD, landed at Port St. Lucie-Treasure Coast Airpark Airport, Florida, USA, with the nosegear retracted. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was uninjured.
