Dear Triad PC Support Family,

This is one of the hardest announcements we’ve ever had to make.

For years, Amy and I have recognized that the traditional walk-in computer repair model was on the decline. Our business client's IT support work slowly took center stage, and we knew that closing the storefront would eventually be part of that shift. As technology has evolved, fewer people bring computers in for repair, and many repairs are no longer cost-effective. We’ve had countless conversations, kindly explaining that a repair just wasn’t in a customer’s best interest, even when they hoped for a different answer.

We chose to keep the storefront open long after it made financial sense, because we genuinely care about our customers—our friends, neighbors, and the people we’ve served for years. Supporting the Lexington community has been an honor. Whether helping someone avoid an online scam, setting up a new computer, or explaining the limits of older technology, it was never just “repair work.” It was a way to look after the people who trusted us.

In time, the front desk became a unique role that only Amy could carry, shaped less by business needs and more by the relationships built there. The work evolved into something like her ministry—part directing traffic, part troubleshooting, part listening ear, part problem solver. She stepped away here and there when she needed a break, but she always returned. Serving this community has been deeply important to her.

This past year changed the course of her life. In early spring, her mother, my mother-in-law, Rose Knight, received a stage-four cancer diagnosis. After eight months in hospice care, Rose went home to be with the Lord on November 7th.

Amy stayed with her mom day and night during her last weeks. Trying to care for her while managing the retail shop took everything in her. She returned to the shop shortly after her mom’s passing, but the week after the funeral, it became clear that Amy could no longer do this.

Since that role is no longer sustainable, we have had to make the difficult but necessary decision to close the retail portion of our business, the repair shop on Main Street. Our team will continue to serve the small to medium-sized businesses of Davidson County and the surrounding areas moving forward.

This decision was made with great care and deep respect—for our clients, our family, and the future of our business.

We are profoundly grateful for the trust and support you’ve shown us since we opened in 2011. While our service model is evolving, our commitment to helping remains unchanged. Proactive plan clients will receive an email with additional details.
