As we celebrate Independence Day, we're reminded that freedom can mean different things to different people.

For many, today is about gathering with family, watching fireworks, and celebrating our nation's history. For others, freedom is quieter.

🇺🇸 It's the courage to ask for help.
🇺🇸The strength to begin again.
🇺🇸The choice to keep going.
🇺🇸The hope of finding freedom from shame, addiction, trauma, or isolation.

At Eleos Connect, we believe healing is its own kind of independence: the freedom to reconnect with yourself, your community, and the life you want to build.

However you're spending today...celebrating, working, grieving, staying sober, or simply making it through...we're glad you're here. ❤️🤍💙

Wishing you a safe, meaningful, and hope-filled Independence Day.

This past month has been a reminder of how fragile and precious life really is.

I celebrated my 50th birthday on May 20. Seven days later, I learned that my dear friend had died after a long struggle with substance use disorder.

Years earlier, I lost my father to the same disease.

A motorcycle trip through seven states gave me the space to sit with all of it: the grief, the memories, the questions, and ultimately, the clarity that sometimes comes when we step away from our daily routines long enough to hear ourselves think.

Over 3,300 miles, through mountains, forests, small towns, and long stretches of open road, I found myself thinking about these two people that I’ve loved deeply and lost because of their struggles with alcohol.

Grief has a way of changing shape over time. Sometimes it’s loud. Sometimes it sits quietly beside you for years. But on this trip, I realized that both losses continue to shape how I move through the world and why certain work feels so important to me.

When I started Eleos Connect, it wasn’t because I had all the answers. It was because I had experienced firsthand the pain, complexity, and isolation that often surround substance use, mental health struggles, and healing. I know what it feels like to lose someone. I also know what it feels like to wonder if healing is even possible.

The conversations around recovery, harm reduction, mental health, and connection are not abstract to me. They are personal.

I nearly lost my own life because of alcohol.

That experience changed the course of my life, and it continues to shape how I show up in the world today.

Somewhere between the dust, the wind, the mountains, and the endless miles, I found a little more clarity about what matters most: connection, compassion, and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and less alone.

Those values are at the heart of Eleos Connect, and they’re becoming even more central to my own life as well.

I’m grateful for the people who have walked beside me, the lessons that have come from loss, and the opportunity to keep turning pain into purpose.

Eleos Connect has a long road ahead of it. We are still in the early stages, but I believe deeply in what is possible when people come together to support healing, reduce stigma, and remind one another that no one has to walk this path alone.

Today is our founder Crystal's 50th birthday and she’s using the occasion to invite support for Eleos Connect. 🎂

We are building community-centered education, reducing stigma, and working toward a future where access to psychedelic healing resources is safer, more informed, and more equitable.

If you’d like to support the mission, you can make a donation or purchase an Eleos t-shirt through our shop.

Kind of personal but this is a part of being authentic and it’s some of what psilocybin has taught me.

Menopause has been rough and life can be stressful. At a recent doctor’s visit, I had much higher blood pressure than usual and it was definitely a wake up call for me. This is why I haven’t posted as regularly or shown up at as many community events. I’m not feeling myself but I’m doing the best I can to navigate each individual day.

A goal I set was to schedule more time for myself so tonight I’m heading to my second class at Megan’s Yoga Tribe this week. Her studio is very comfortable for me and there aren’t many places where I feel as at ease. While I’m not taking hard classes (yet) the Rest and Restore classes are helping me find my way. As much as I want to, I’m not tagging her business because of the unfortunate stigma still surrounding psychedelics and I don’t want to negatively impact her business unintentionally.

The whole point of this is that if you are having a tough time too, I want to encourage you to schedule time for yourself. Find your comfortable space. Do the things that guide you back home to yourself.

You’ve got this…and if you need a little support, reach out or post a comment. We’re all in this together. 💚

Have the best evening!

💚 Crystal

The struggle is real! 😅

I went into the shop to purchase a couple of shirts for myself and realized there was a shipping issue. Took a bit to troubleshoot, but the shop is officially working now.

If you tried earlier and hit a wall, you’re all set now. Please try again! 🙏

Thanks for sticking with me…this is just the beginning 💚

If you’ve been following along and want to support what I’m building with Eleos, grabbing a shirt or sharing the shop link goes a long way right now.

Every little bit helps keep this moving forward...(and I could really use the support).

We started with one simple option: a black long sleeve.

As we move into spring, it felt like the right time to open things up a bit. We added a few new colors (white, black, and turquoise) while keeping the same message at the center of it all:

Healing belongs to everyone.

If you choose to wear one, you’re not just buying a shirt, you’re supporting the work we’re building at Eleos Connect.

And if you’d like to support what we’re building but don’t need a t-shirt, that means just as much.

We’d also love to hear your thoughts on colors, styles, or anything you’d want to see in the future.
