Sweet Oli

These miles are for grandpa Dave! Thank you so much!!! Video attached at the end of Oli riding in the cart. Each time we do it, it gets easier and I’m more confident. Michael doesn’t even hold on now, just has his hands braced on each side just in case. Apparently I lean to the left unknowingly. I’m going to take a wild guess and say it has something to do with my 42 back surgeries and spinal fusion resulting in a very crooked upper back, neck and hips. 😂

Ok these miles (swimming instead of running cuz heat) are for Sheila Boyd Peacock and Karly Wortmann Good! Thank you guys so much!! I’ve taken Oli out a few times in the cart and uncle Mike is coming over tonight and we’re going out tonight so I’ll try to remember to get some more video to post Thank you Shelia and Karly!!!!!

Oli update: Hospital discharge, what we found out, Nebraska chronic intestinal failure clinic next week and the Huckleberry Tandem Hiking Cart came!!! And we got to try it out before she went into the hospital!!! The video of her very first ride is at the end! ❤️

Hospital day #5 Tye day I’ve been waiting for. The lipids were started and everyone was huddled around her bed watching her like she was a rocket ready to launch and…

Hospital day #3. She had a reaction last night to the calcium so now we have that information. 🙌🙏 They’re just adding in more ingredients to see what else she reacts to before coming up with a home plan.

Neurosurgery discussed the cyst that they found on her brain and what that might mean, she got a private Taylor Swift concert by the music therapists at the hospital and had lots of smiles today.

Olí got a bed and we didn’t have to sleep in the ER!!

Another day,another ER visit, another hospital admission. But we have a plan this time!

Graduation Video.
People always say that I’m strong. That I’m some kind of supermom. But the truth? I didn’t get here by myself. We’re surrounded by teachers, aides, family and friends.
Teachers who stayed late and spent their own money. The aides who held her hand when she was scared. The staff who built her equipment by hand, so she could learn in her own way. Those who saw her potential, not just her diagnosis. It’s the friends and family who never disappeared. Because here’s the truth: There are people who say they’re there for you… And then there are the ones who actually are. The ones who show up quietly, faithfully, again and again. There are no words big enough to say thank you.

Olí will be the last student to walk the stage. So if you were planning on coming and see her class going first,which was the original plan, and you do not see her, do not panic. There was a problem with the guy who didn’t want to allow her to get out of chair… It was a whole thing, but the school advocated for her. Her amazing teachers advocated for her, and they figured it all out. And now Oli will walk last.
