I have something heavy on my chest this morning, me and my kids have been giving back to the homeless every year since Covid. The other night we went to the parade downtown and we walked pass this lady as we were leaving and she was on a park bench trying to sleep. My heart sunk as we walked pass her, before I could say something two of my kids said dad we need to hurry up and help the homeless fast. I said yes I know we will start a drive soon. I asked them what made them say that, and my daughter responds by saying dad it’s cold and that lady needs a blanket. That instantly broke my heart, because I know how it feels to sleep outside at a young age. I’m starting my boot, blanket and coat drive today, if you have any old blankets, boots, coats, etc laying around that someone less fortunate can use to stay warm in this cold weather I would greatly appreciate it.
