🚨 PACK THE ROOM 🚨
Show up. Speak out. Help protect Lancaster's future.

AI data centers are energy- and water-intensive facilities, and two have already been approved in Lancaster.

City Council needs to hear from the people who will live with these decisions.

📅 Tuesday, July 14
🕡 6:30 PM
📍 120 N. Duke St. (use the side entrance)

Because Pennsylvania law gives municipalities little authority to block or pause these projects, Lancaster City Council is trying to establish zoning protections before more proposals arrive.

Serious concerns:
💧 Water use
🔊 Noise pollution
🌫️ Air pollution
🏘️ Community impacts

Pop quiz: What industry has poured the most corporate money into 2026 elections thus far?

Oil
Defense
Pool contractors
Cryptocurrency
(scroll for the answer)

The answer is cryptocurrency. And it’s not even all that close.

On this week’s What’s the Plan, Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg will be joined by actor and activist Ben McKenzie for an in-depth conversation on crypto corruption and how progressives should address it. McKenzie is the director of the anti-crypto documentary “Everyone Is Lying to You for Money," though many of you probably know him as the star of the OC.

Register for this week’s What’s the Plan with Ezra, Leah, and Ben McKenzie (Thursday, July 9 at 3pm ET / 12pm PT) >>https://www.mobilize.us/indivisible/event/874938/

A collective assessment of what this Supreme Court has done from Guide. Because any successful pro-democracy movement will have to undo it.

The Supreme Court has systemically expanded Trump’s power. Often, this court doesn't even bother to explain itself, blessing Trump with unsigned emergency orders. Let’s roll the tape:

April 2025: Trump can freeze Department of Education grants.
May 2025: Trump can fire NLRB members and strip protected status from over half a million immigrants fleeing dangerous conditions.
June 2025: Lower courts can’t block Trump with nationwide injunctions. Also, state attacks on trans kids are OK.
July 2025: Mass firings across the federal workforce and the dismantling of the Department of Education? All fine.
Sept 2025: Trump can unilaterally kill $4 billion in foreign aid. And ICE goons can stop people based on race.
Dec 2025: Texas’ racist gerrymander is A-OK.
Feb 2026: Most tariffs struck down. Corporations rejoice.
April 2026: Voting Rights Act gutted -- former Confederate states can now dismantle Black and Latino districts with near-impunity.
June 2026: Trump can replace leadership at some two dozen regulatory agencies. States can force the inspection of young girls’ ge****ls for school sports. And political parties can coordinate unlimited spending with candidates.

What constrains the court? Other than us, precious little.

This weekend, we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America, a nation built on the enduring promise of freedom, opportunity, and self-government.

As a career nurse, I have spent my life caring for people from every background and every point of view. That's the spirit I believe our country needs more of: listening, serving, and putting people before politics. The strength of America has always been its people and our willingness to keep working toward a more perfect union.

Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day. Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Thanks Lloyd Smucker for this warning. In case you're not a subscriber, here are some excerpts from our Congressman Lloyd Smucker's latest missive, . The lack of self-actualization is stunning. But he's asked for our thoughts.

"As always, if you have any thoughts on these or other issues that are critical to your family, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can call (717) 393-0667 or send an email by visiting smucker.house.gov/contact.

I was honored to join my colleagues for a ceremonial session of the House of Representatives held in Philadelphia at Independence Hall, in the very room that the future of our nation’s independence and form of governance was discussed and affirmed.

I was reminded of the famous story about how Benjamin Franklin responded to a question about the outcome of the Constitutional Convention, held in Independence Hall in 1787. He famously said we have “a republic, if you can keep it.” It has been the responsibility of each generation of Americans to “keep” our republic and preserve the promise of our American experiment in self-governance. Trump’s Moneymaking Run
Why are these politely being referred to as “CONFLICTS?” And not CORRUPTION?
Support in the MAGAverse may be due to FOX NEWS indoctrination, but our elected representatives know the facts and choose the lies. That’s you, Congressman Lloyd Smucker

President Trump reaped a stunning windfall in his first year back in the White House, including about $1.4 billion from his family’s cryptocurrency businesses, a new filing shows. All told, the president pulled in at least $2.2 billion.

Mr. Trump is a major operator in the crypto industry and its top policymaker. One of his biggest hauls in 2025 came when an investment firm tied to the United Arab Emirates bought nearly half of the Trump family’s main crypto company, World Liberty Financial, a transaction that blurred the line between foreign policy and private enterprise. Mr. Trump also collected hundreds of millions of dollars from sales of his $TRUMP meme coin and World Liberty’s sale of its own digital tokens.

The Trump Organization has licensed the Trump name to properties in countries that are crucial to U.S. foreign policy interests, including Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Those two deals alone generated more than $14 million

Congressman Lloyd Smucker HAS VOWED 100% support for his leader.
That's all needs to know to .

Donald Trump on his housing affordability plan, in his own words:
—"It's so unimportant"
—"It's a big yawn"
—"I don't think about Americans' financial situation"
—"I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up"
(in his own words)

Lest we forget the little things.
No comment from Smucker. Plenty from his constituents.

On January 6, 2021, in the hours after the violent insurrection at the Capitol, Smucker voted to omit Arizona and/or Pennsylvania from the counting of presidential electors, which could have altered the outcome of the election in Trump’s favor.

June 29, 2021: U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker was fined $5,000 for bypassing security measures implemented at the Capitol after the Jan. 6 riots.
The Lancaster Republican was first notified of the fine on May 20, according to the House Ethics Committee. He appealed the fine, but the appeal was denied.

In 2024, SCOTUS upheld the $5,000 fine against Smucker for dodging metal detectors in the Capitol after Jan. 6.
