FHR Longhorns

Well, the futurity season is finally over for me. It's been a ton of work and countless hours on the road. My goal for this year was to see if I could keep 20 Gauge the "Bull of the Year" two years in a row. I think I accomplished that; but along the way, I've had the lead (unexpectedly) for "Cow of the Year". That was at the beginning of the year, and she dropped out of 1st for most of the year but currently is in the lead again. [Amazingly, she only had one heifer of age, FHR 20G's Iron Symbol, to represent her.] How cool would it be to win both titles in the same year. Unfortunately, I think she will lose that lead at the final bell; but for this day and time, she is in the lead and I currently hold the lead in "Bull and Cow of the Year" - an accomplishment, frankly, I never would have dreamed possible when I started this journey. As I said, for this day, I get to enjoy those titles and what I've accomplished; and if she loses the title knowing I gave it my best, I'm okay with it. On a side note, my wife asked me if I had it to do over would I do all the work again; and my answer is Yes. But I won't be doing it again because it takes away too much time from what's most important...family.

I knew this girl was going to be special, and she secured that thought with 3 First place winnings this weekend at the 2023 ITLA Championship Show. Thank you, Alissa Butler for showing her and adding your talents to making those First place finish's a reality. You are a special young lady.
