There’s this unspoken expectation that once you’ve shown strength, you’re supposed to carry it forever. Like you don’t get to have off days, like you don’t get to feel overwhelmed, like you always have to be the one who figures it out. But the truth is… I don’t always want to be the strong one. Strength can get heavy. Being the one people depend on, the one who keeps pushing, the one who holds it all together, it takes something out of you over time.
Sometimes I want to not have the answers. Sometimes I want to be held, to be understood, to be given the space to feel without having to explain or justify it. To just exist in a moment without feeling like I’m letting anyone down. Because at the end of the day, being strong doesn’t mean you don’t need support, it just means you’ve learned how to carry a lot. And even the ones who carry the most still deserve somewhere to set it down.
Tag someone who’s always strong for everyone else… they might need this reminder too.
