Initial bevel grinds on the Pikal. It has a hollow grind main bevel. I think i need to go a little higher on the main bevel.

Just when I thought the OG Rib Spreader was going to be archived, my toxic moss one sold last week. The OG is the bottom knife. This week's sparked new life to it. Meet Rib Spreader 2.0 made from a Tanto Stinger blank. My buddy asked me to make another but a Pikal version off of this platform. If you are wondering what Pikal means stay tuned but basically it is a knife with the sharpend edge on the spine. Sounds like both Rib Spreader designs are getting uploaded to CADD for future water jetting.

Last night I finish sanded 10 of the 14 knife sheaths I made over the last 2 days. I also engraved 6 of the 10 sheaths I made. Tonight I will finish engraving the last 4 knife sheaths. I think i am going to remake the 4 sheaths for the G10 knives but do them as a fold over taco style sheath. Out of the 6 sheaths done last night 3 of the builds will be sent out to their new homes next week.

Progress pics from today back to heat treatment. This is a custom build for a client that is requesting a knife for her husband and father. This has been a tricky one for sure with making custom scales out of Koa Wood, brass spacers, Moloka'i Axis Deer Antler, and abalone resin scale material. I am naming these scales the Mauka to Makai edition.

First set of scales mocked up and test fitted before they get epoxied together. A customer wanted 2 of the same knife, one for her husband and one for her father. Tomorrow I will mock up the other knife's scales.

While the pork was smoking today, multitasking was in full effect. Started working on the next 3 knives that were commissioned right as I was going on vacation to Vegas in May. First is a pair of Stinger Trailing Points with Abalone scales. One is being built for a client. Next is a matching set of Nomad Woodsman. I am calling it Mauka to Makai. Scales will be Koa Wood, Moloka'i Axis Deer Antler, and Abalone. Oh and the K9 Crew Stickers arrived from Sticker Mule. Mady and Bear have their own sticker. Next up will be Shop Kitty Steve Stickers once my wife designs it. If you ever see something I am making that you like and must have, shoot me a DM and we can start a conversation. Not everything I am making is for a client. I am starting to make stock for the October Gunshow.
