Another story in the news about Stormwater! Bioretention is catching on as an effective, affordable, and achievable for low impact design green stormwater infrastructure enhancements. Retrofitting landscaped islands in impervious parking areas can provide extended detention for captured runoff reducing peak flow severity during rain events. These natural systems remove nutrients, sediments, and other pollutants impacting water quality as well.
