💦 Learning Through Play… One Splash at a Time! 💦

Some of the best learning doesn’t happen at a desk, it happens with curious hands, big imaginations, and a little water! 🌊

Today our little learners explored floating, sinking, problem-solving, sharing, and teamwork through hands-on water play. While they thought they were simply having fun, they were building language, fine motor skills, social skills, early science concepts, and confidence.

At Cornerstone Christian Academy, we believe children learn best when they’re engaged, exploring, and discovering the world around them. Every splash, every question, and every smile is another opportunity to grow.

☀️ A little shade, a lot of laughter, and memories in the making!

Our VBS crew had so much fun playing parachute games, working together, cheering each other on, and enjoying a break from the Texas sunshine. Sometimes the simplest moments become the ones children remember most.

We love watching friendships grow, confidence bloom, and joy fill the playground. 💙💚

We believe there is incredible power in prayer. We would be honored if our CCA family would join us in lifting up these special prayer requests this week.

🙏 Please pray:
• For Uncle Eric—that God would give him wisdom, guidance, and a softened heart.
• For a family grieving the loss of a loved one.
• For a dad undergoing cancer surgery—that the Lord would provide healing, peace, and strength.
• For someone having a root canal—that all would go smoothly and recovery would be quick.
• For a dad who recently lost his job—that God would open new doors and provide for his family’s every need.

📖 Verse of the Week
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18

Thank you for being a community that cares for one another through prayer. If your family has a prayer request, we’d love to pray with you. Simply let us know, and we’ll add it to our prayer board. 💙

This was one of those days that reminds me how much learning happens outside of a worksheet.

Our students had the opportunity to spend time with some very special guests from the Justin Fire Department. They learned about fire safety, explored the fire truck, asked lots of questions, and got an up-close look at what it means to serve and protect our community. 🚒

Later, we gathered for small group reading and reflection. Watching children slow down, listen to stories, share their thoughts, and engage with books is one of my favorite parts of the day. There is something special about seeing their curiosity grow, whether they are standing beside a fire truck or turning the pages of a book.

A huge thank you to the Justin Fire Department for taking time out of your day to invest in our students. Experiences like these help children connect what they are learning to the world around them, and those lessons tend to stay with them long after the day is over.

Some days learning looks like lights, sirens, and big red trucks. Other days it looks like bean bags, books, and quiet conversations.

Both are important. ❤️

Some are smooth, some are chipped, some are tiny, some stand out right away.

And I thought… isn’t that just like children?

God didn’t create them to all be the same. He gave each child their own gifts, personality, interests, and way of seeing the world. The loud ones, the quiet ones, the leaders, the helpers, the dreamers, the deep thinkers.

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14

What a gift it is to remind children that are valuable and deeply loved by the God who made them.

The world is a whole lot brighter because of the beautiful little differences He placed in each of them. 🤍🐚

✨📖 DAY 1 OF VBS WAS AMAZING! ☀️🎉

What a beautiful first day filled with laughter, learning, worship, games, and so many smiles! Our little ones jumped right into Bible stories, outdoor fun, music, and making new friendships as we kicked off an unforgettable week together. 💙💚

We are so thankful for our incredible teachers and families who made today so special. We can already see God moving in the hearts of these children, and we can’t wait for all that’s ahead this summer! 🙌

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Their sacrifice reminds us of the cost of freedom and the strength of faith, courage, and selfless love. As we gather with family today, may we never forget those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy.

“We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.” ❤️
