Our Halftrack is coming along nicely. The rear bumpers are done and yellow " bumper number" Able Eight was stencilled on both sides. We are getting closer and closer to completing this restoration. The big reveal is planned for Veteran's Day.

Did you know, that the M2 tripod (utilized for ground-mounting .30-caliber M1919 machine guns) was not permanently fixed for firing from the vehicle. Instead, the folded tripods were firmly lashed to specific storage brackets mounted along the exterior and interior rear armor.
These brackets allowed the mechanized infantry squad to dismount their .30 cal M1919A4 machine guns. Crew members would unmount the guns from the vehicle's pintles, pull the tripod from its rear storage bracket, and establish a stable, static fire position on the ground.
The tripod bracket was installed to the rear of our 1942 White M2 Halftrack by Pavel's Restoration.

Patriotism is the devoted love, support, and defense of one’s country. It goes beyond just affection for the land itself; it encompasses a loyalty to a nation's values, institutions, and fellow citizens, often combined with a sense of responsibility to improve the country and help it thrive.

Pass this on the next generation!!!
