I wanted to come on here today and talk about something that a lot of small business owners experience… especially in the service industry.

It’s honestly so interesting how different people approach hiring a professional service.

Some customers contact us already knowing exactly what they want. They understand the value of professionalism, systems, scheduling, consultations, insurance, reliability, and quality work. They have no issue paying consultation fees, deposits, or even paying upfront because they understand they are hiring a legitimate business — not just “someone cleaning.”

Then there’s another group of people who are extremely hesitant, doubtful, fearful, or uncomfortable when it comes to paying consultation fees or deposits upfront.

And I understand both sides.

As customers, people want to protect their money.
But as business owners, we also have to protect our time, our schedule, our travel, our experience, and the years we’ve invested into building our company.

A consultation isn’t just us “coming to look.”
There’s travel involved.
Scheduling involved.
Time involved.
Experience involved.
Measurements.
Planning.
Building customized pricing.
Understanding the condition of the property.
Understanding customer expectations.
Creating service recommendations.
Organizing scheduling logistics.
And sometimes spending over an hour with a customer before we even book the actual service.

What many people don’t realize is that serious clientele usually don’t hesitate because they understand the process and they value professionalism.

The customers who are ready, prepared, and truly looking for quality service usually move differently. They respect systems. They respect boundaries. They respect time.

And honestly… over the years in business, I’ve learned that not every customer is your customer — and that’s okay. 💕

Some people shop strictly based on price.
Others shop based on professionalism, trust, peace of mind, consistency, and overall experience.

At Expert Cleaners LLC, we’ve worked very hard to build a business that operates professionally, communicates clearly, and protects both our clients and our company.
