SUMMER BAND CAMP IS BACK!
Jackson College 's Summer Band Camp is right around the corner, and preparations are underway for another exciting season of music and fun.
Director Dan Bickel shares what students and families can expect from this year's two-week Summer Band Camp. Now in his 11th year leading the program, Bickel also reflects on the camp's history, its impact on young musicians throughout the region, and what makes the experience so special.

Jackson College's Director of Employer Customized Education & Training Erika Garner (Corporate & Continuing Education at Jackson College) was recently on The Morning Gas with J-Rod & Micki on K105.3 discussing the Inaugural “Stars, Stripes, and Stories” event.
Happening Monday, June 15, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., by the flagpoles at the Emmons Road entrance (rain location, Bert Walker Hall Rooms 144-145).
Open to students, employees and the community, the free event will feature a presentation by Dr. Hernando Flowers, SPHR, PSHRA-SCP, SHRM-SCP, PMP, CWDP, SWP, lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve along with games, crafts, veteran appreciation activities, military displays and community resources.
Activities will take place near the Emmons Road entrance flagpoles, or indoors in Bert Walker Hall in case of rain.
Guests will also receive Dining Commons and Bookstore discounts at the event.

Sparkforce Camp is coming up in July!
This hands-on camp introduces middle school students to the exciting world of modern manufacturing. Director of Economic and Workforce Development Amber Collins explains why Jackson College is excited to host this camp with the Shop Rat Foundation.
Nine members of the 2026 Jackson College Baseball team have earned the opportunity to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level while receiving scholarships:

⚾ Jakob Hindenach – Northwood University
⚾ Cory Viola – Milligan University (Tennessee)
⚾ Joey Miller – Madonna University
⚾ Jaxon Copas – Cleary University
⚾ Luke Micunek – Midway University (Kentucky)
⚾ Cooper Cumberworth – Saginaw Valley State University
⚾ Sebastian Nelson – Aquinas College
They were part of a team that maintained a team GPA above 3.0 as well
Congratulations to each of these players.
Jakob Hindenach came to Jackson College looking for a baseball program.
He left with:
👉 Player of the Year honors
👉 A business degree
👉 A vision for his future
Hindenach says the difference was the people, coaches who checked in, professors who made the time and teammates who became family.
Next stop: Northwood University.

From competitive runners chasing a personal best to families walking together for fun, the Jackson Rose Run at Jackson College on June 13 promises a community celebration where every step supports health, connection, and local pride.
Packet pickup will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, between 2-7 p.m. at the Jets Hangar, and on race day from 6-7:30 a.m. at the Jets Hangar.

It was a time of laughter, celebration and fond farewells at the recent All College Celebration!
