I agree with most of what Dr. Evan's says about LBP here (but he did not say enough about results from physical therapy!). However, check out what is recommended for low back pain at the 9:20 mark (a screen shot below)..."MODIFY your workstation by taking small breaks and changing posture".
Isn't this what the XtensionDesk ALLOWS? I think so. Pass it on.

Sitting Can Be Harmful to Your Health - MoveForwardPT.com Inactivity researchers are discovering that sitting isn't just harmful to your health, it's so detrimental that a little bit of exercise doesn't offset its negative effects.
Quote from Tissot et al 2009: "The results strongly suggest that freedom to sit down at will (being able to alternate postures) may be important in preventing LBP"
EXACTLY. If you want to prevent, and even treat spinal conditions, you need to have the availability to CHANGE positions regularly. Hence, the Xtension Desk.
F. Tissot , K. Messing & S. Stock (2009) Studying the relationship between low back pain and working
postures among those who stand and those who sit most of the working day, Ergonomics, 52:11, 1402-1418
Systematic Review (highest level of evidence) shows ergonomics for preventing or treating spinal pain are ineffective. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20360197
It is because we are trying to treat with devices to SIT differently! We have to get UP and MOVE more. Hence, the Xtension Desk
A recent 2013 study in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine showed people were 2.5 times likely to have increased waist circumference and 9 times more likely to have increased BMI based SIMPLY on sitting time during the work day. Want to lose weight for the 2014? Think about getting a stand-up desk, better yet, look into the XtensionDesk.
