I cosplay for the little black girls who never saw themselves in anime. For the little black girls that thought their hair wasn’t good enough. For the little black girls that believed love was something outside of their skin tone and so was creativity. This is for the little girls that had to hear which characters are not black.

This is for the ni**as.

Up first : BIG PLUTO
The most mysterious Sailor Scout, in my opinion. As a child, I did not relate to this individual because who even knew who she was? Just beautiful and powerful that’s all I knew.

But after learning her story as an adult, did, I fully understand the power that it takes to stand in solitude. Guardian of space and time and the underworld. Daughter of Kronos. The only Sailor Senshi , whose father is a literal God. ( Greek mythology plays a very tiny part in Sailor Moon but it is there! )

My goal is to use my personality as a conduit to re-imagine and represent the Sailor Scouts that have impacted me to the core. And I’m dedicated to learning to express my creativity through my locks, instead of denying their uniqueness and hiding them under a wig.

My goal is not accurate cosplay. My goal is black cosplay. 💯
