If chickens were mean girls, this would be Regina George.
This is Forever. 🐓
I always wanted a Gold Laced Wyandotte because they look like Monarch butterflies.
But she’s a bully.
After too many instances of feather pulling, she got to live in chicken jail solitary confinement for two days before she got to move into the new coop.
Now she is getting a taste of what it is like at the bottom of the pecking order…

Father’s Day is cancelled…
My father, the prankster, went too far today.
Luckily, my good friend Rachel could tell from the photo that this snake was FAKE… but I still used a garden hoe to pick it up, just in case. 😳🐍
Now this little rubber menace is living in the nectarine tree in hopes it will deter birds from eating the fruit.
Unfortunately, it’s much more likely to scare me every time I forget it’s there. 🤦♀️😂

Rural King Strikes Again…
Farmer T got his popcorn, and gave into my chicken math… 🫣

Buddy posing on the trailer we’re borrowing to bring something exciting to the farm tomorrow. 🐶
Hint: Charlotte is going to be very excited. 🐔🤭
What do you think we’re bringing home?

The very first harvest from our vegetable garden. 🌱🥬🍅
Cherry tomatoes, broccoli, and two kinds of lettuce. Farmer T ate the tomatoes before we got to the house 🤭, but the rest will become tomorrow’s salad. (And I can even boil some eggs!)
Thanks to busy schedules and Indiana weather, we don’t have nearly as much planted as we hoped by now.
Getting to prepare food that Farmer T and I grew together in our own garden is pretty cool. ❤️
Maybe this weekend we’ll finally get the rest of the garden in order. 🌱
(And a special shout-out to Simple Living Homestead for the broccoli harvesting tips!)
