Commercial vent hood installed at this residence in Dallas took a lot of figuring out, patience and it was done with care and love to deliver the best possible results you can always expect from Handyman PRO - DFW.

Considerations: the vent hood originally comes with a 10” diameter vent pipe connector, residential vent available is 6”, reductions are about 18”-20” long and there’s no room above, also, exploration above vent resulted in finding a joist just above vent which discarded going through the ceiling and crawl space to exit that way, cutting joists constitutes a violation of the existing building code. So our last resort was cutting a hole on the massive stone backsplash that is 1.5” thick. I added new foam insulation around the vent and inside the wall. Used 6” vent pipe all the way, total length is less than 2’ long and represents no considerable reduction in air flow as the fan exit inside the hood is 6.5” anyways.
