There is no perfect time.
Only perfect hindsight.

The market won’t send you a memo when it hits bottom. 📉
Rates won’t apologize for going back up. 📈
And that dream house? It won’t wait around for your spreadsheet to give the green light. 🏡

Here’s what actually matters:

✔️ Can you afford the payment?
✔️ Do you love the house?
✔️ Will you be there for a while?

If the answer is yes, that is the perfect time.

Timing the market is for stockbrokers.
Owning real estate is for people building wealth. 💰

It’s hard to separate Cape Cod style homes from their history. Like many other interior design styles, the Cape Cod home was a product of its environment—in this case, New England, where winters are harsh. The Cape Cod style is essentially an adaptation of the English cottage, with some distinctly American traits. Many traditional English features do remain however, such as low ceilings (to better conserve heat) and the use of shutters to block out strong winds.
Like all architectural styles, there are some very particular elements that define this type of home. Some of these are like a steep, gabled roof which helps snow and rain quickly slide off of the roof and a massive chimney centrally located right behind the front door. In fact, the fireplace itself serves as one of the main interior features that the rest of the home is built around.
Shingle siding can be found with various types of siding—including brick and stone—however gray shingles are the classic siding option for this type of house. A standard Cape Cod house has two windows on either side of the front door, as well as a dormer window on either side of the chimney.
You may notice that many Cape Cod houses have a “captain’s stairway” leading up to the second floor, which is a steep and narrow staircase designed to take up as little of the first floor as possible. A defining interior feature of a Cape house is its layout, which is designed to be symmetrical and centered around one main living space. This style of home featured an open concept and low ceiling which ensured that heat could flow more freely throughout the home.
