Last hike of the day pics. So the petroglyphs - I'm in the parking lot, waiting for Doug to finish talking with the ranger guys about something, and struck up a conversation with an older gentleman, who was with his extended family. He told me about the petroglyphs, and that the rangers don't like to point them out because they are rare, and they are afraid someone will deface them. He said they are rare because they show people on horseback, and most do not show that. Story sounded a little fishy, because they could have chined them off, like they have others.... I think the thing that made this one rare is that it shows a football player, playing with a hula hoop and a spear - some sort of weird game..... Oh, and he has antlers instead of a helmet.🤨

Don't you just LOVE that later-in-the-day lighting??
