I know I’ve been behind on posting about it, but I’m excited about the great work happening in Howe parks. Connections Park is now officially a city park, and Reed Park has seen a major remodel. A lot of great things are happening in Howe!

This is what responsible growth and sound financial planning look like. Howe now has the capacity to support future growth while putting the city in a much stronger position when it comes to water treatment. Howe is better positioned than ever for the opportunities ahead!!!

I have the great honor of announcing the Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new Water Resource Recovery Facility (formerly the wastewater treatment plant), along with the Grand Opening of BVRT II’s new office, on June 17, 2026.

Before being elected Mayor in May 2023, I began working toward a long-term solution for the City of Howe’s wastewater needs. Thanks to a City Council that believed in this vision and provided unwavering support, that vision became a reality on April 28, 2025, when I had the privilege of signing the Franchise Agreement between the City of Howe and BVRT II before completing my first term as Mayor.

I am grateful for a City Council that continues to work collaboratively toward a shared vision for the future of Howe. Together, we are making meaningful investments that will support growth, strengthen infrastructure, and serve our community for generations to come.

Great things are happening in Howe — the Heart of North Texas!

Blythe Road Update:

At the April 21, 2026 Regular City Council meeting, the Council approved entering into an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Howe, Howe developer Qualico Homes, the City of Van Alstyne, and Grayson County to repair Blythe Road from Hwy 5 to the Hwy 75 Service Road. Today, I officially signed the agreement.

I sincerely appreciate all parties working together for the betterment of our communities and the citizens we serve.

Grayson County is expected to complete the road repairs sometime this summer. Improving roads and infrastructure continues to be a priority for me, the City Council, and City Staff. Thank you to everyone for your continued patience and support as we work to improve our community.

Howe Police Department becomes an accredited agency joining Sherman and Denison as only accredited departments in Grayson County.

On Thursday morning, February 19, 2026, Howe Police Chief Jake Sullivan received a letter from the Texas Police Chief's Association Foundation informing him that the Howe Police Department has achieved "Accreditation Status" which places the HPD in a group of less than 300 state agencies of 2800 in Texas to achieve this high standard of practice. Howe joins Sherman and Denison as the only accredited agencies in Grayson County.

The letter states, "As you know, the accreditation process is extensive and challenging. The HPD is to be commended for the commitment and professional dedication made toward this success. This outstanding achievement is one that every agency employee and your community members can proudly accept, knowing your Agency has met Texas' Gold Standard in Law Enforcement Accreditation."

The Howe Police Department will be recognized during the 2026 TPCA Annual Conference.

We’re making smart investments in Howe’s future. This year’s budget commits more funding to street repairs, and as our tax base grows and developers partner with the city, you’ll continue to see progress across town.

Happy Wednesday everyone. I’ve seen some questions on social media so i thought I’d share my understanding:

📣 What were Propositions A–D about?
These items on the recent ballot were NOT city propositions — they were for Howe Municipal Utility District No. 1 (MUD No. 1), located on the east side of Howe.

Here’s what each one did:
• Prop A – Confirmed creation of the MUD
• Prop B – Allowed the MUD to charge an ongoing operations & maintenance property tax (up to $0.30 per $100 valuation)
• Prop C – Authorized up to $42.5 million in bonds for water, sewer, and drainage
• Prop D – Authorized up to $20 million in bonds for roads

🗳 Who could vote?
Only registered voters who live inside the MUD boundaries were eligible to vote.
➡️ Living in Howe outside the MUD did not qualify someone to vote
➡️ Owning land in the MUD, but not living there, did not qualify either

Sharing this so our community has clarity on what these propositions were and how the voting process works. Transparency helps everyone stay informed. 👍

Everyone knows by now that SNAP will not be available in November for families that need it. We need help assisting those families and many more. Check out what you can do to help us make a difference in this time of uncertainty. We all thrive when we help others!

While inconvenient at first, this will allow safer travel around Howe. This project, along with the added stop lights and overpass will position Howe for our future growth.
