If your answer to all those posts that ask what plant you have given up on, or just can’t grow even though everyone says they’re so easy is “Aloes”
it’s not your fault you can’t grow them, most of the common care advice for Aloes is just plain wrong and that’s what is killing your plant(s).

They do not hate direct sun, they are partial to full sun plants and tend to etiolate indoors without enough light. That makes them weaker and more susceptible to rot (and easier to burn if you don’t acclimate them properly to more light.) Brown is not sunburn
pale, droopy Aloe vera plants with long, top heavy stems are etiolated. Those lanky indoor Aloes are not thriving just because they are still green!

They don’t hate water, they hate poor draining soil that stays damp too long after they get watered. This doesn’t allow for healthy root growth, which also leads to rot (especially for weak, etiolated plants.) Don’t water on a schedule, and “water when the soil is dry” isn’t very good advise either.
