Bowing Yoga Mudra Variation is an intermediate level forward bend, stretching pose. Bowing Yoga Mudra Variation as the name suggests is a variation of Bowing Yoga Mudra. The difference between the base pose and the variation is that in the base pose, the lower body stays in Balasana and the arms and shoulders are in an outward stretch wherein in the variation the lower body is lifted and rested on the knees while the shoulders and the arms are in a stretched position just like the base pose but due to the lower body position, the arms are getting more stretch than the base pose.

It has many calming effects and works best for anxiety and stress. Bowing Yoga Mudra Variation will also prepare the practitioners for Sirsasana. This variation can be practiced in case the students are not flexible enough for Balasana. The practice of Bowing Yoga Mudra (the base pose) has many variations, like in a seated position or Psychic Union Pose (Yoga Mudrasana). However, the final goal is the practice of this variation which is a challenging meditative pose. Bowing Yoga Mudra is a stepping stone to meditative practices and can be combined with Uddiyana Bandha, and Root Lock (Mula Bandha), thus making it an intermediate practice.
