The summer interns wrapped up another successful week of their internship. This week, they began their bill research projects, toured the University of Houston Sugar Land campus, and some even became Volunteer Deputy Registrars! As always, the interns ended the week with community service—helping the Sugar Land Parks and Recreation Department with trail maintenance at Cullinan Park. The Austin interns completed their first week and as a reward, they spent time volunteering at a local pet shelter!

Proud to share my latest op-ed on giving young people in our juvenile justice system real second chances. Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed—no matter their past. My new law expands access to career and technical education for youth in the system, so they have the tools and support to build a brighter future.

The summer interns wrapped up their first week which included a session of team building exercises led by Cindy Wang, a great friend to our office. As for their community service, the interns volunteered with a nursing care facility in Houston, where they had a rewarding experience engaging with the elderly, bringing joy to their lives!
