is headed our way! Here are five things you can do to help prepare your pool for a hurricane:

1. DON’T EMPTY YOUR POOL
An empty pool can “float” when the ground becomes saturated with water!

2. SHUT DOWN YOUR ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
If it looks like your equipment area is going to flood, shut down all electrical equipment to your pool by turning off the circuit breakers for your pumps, chlorinators, heaters, lights and any other electrical equipment.

3. STORE ALL LOOSE ITEMS
Anything that is not bolted down can become a dangerous projectile in a storm. Store any loose items such as patio furniture, umbrellas or pool toys where they are secure from the wind. If you need to, you can submerge waterproof patio furniture in your pool so it won’t blow away.

4. LEAVE YOUR POOL COVER OFF
Flying debris such as branches can cause damage to your pool cover so it is better to leave it off during a hurricane.

5. SHOCK YOUR POOL BEFORE THE STORM
Debris and water from storms can contaminate your pool. Prepare your pool ahead of time by shocking your pool before a storm. Be sure to let the pump run a few hours after you shock the pool to circulate the chlorine.

STAY SAFE & KNOW THAT TRINITY POOL CO., LLC is here to help you with any of your swimming pool needs.
