happy black history month!
and yes we are history everyday but for this month we celebrate extra. Being a foreigner i can honeslty say i never learnt a whole lot about African Americans or even knew of the struggers and the huge role they played in african freedoms and history. I was blessed to attend a HBCU.TSU (Fun fact: the first sit-in in Houston was organized by TSU students at the Weingarten’s lunch counter at 4110 Almeda St.) . I had to take Political science and my professor started my journey of black history discovery and i have never been the same again.
I challenge you to do some black history research this month. Start with a simple google search or ask your local black history scholar and get started. You’ll be surprised at the things you learn and realize how much we lack of education that we have gotten during our public schooling.
Africa is a huge continent with over 2 Billion people speaking thousands of different languages. It is known as the cradle of humanity and its history stretches back thousands of years.
