Caregivers are often the first to notice when something isn’t right—but foot health is one of the most overlooked areas of care.
Small changes in the feet can quickly turn into pain, infection, falls, or hospital visits if they’re missed or misunderstood. Yet most caregivers are never taught what to look for, what’s safe to do at home, or when it’s time to call for help.
That’s why we created the Caregiver’s Foot Health Safety Guide—a simple, practical resource designed to help caregivers:
• Understand why foot health matters
• Recognize early warning signs
• Practice safe, everyday foot care
• Know when professional care is needed
No medical background required. Just clear, supportive guidance caregivers can use right away.
If you’re a caregiver—or support caregivers in your work—you can access the guide by scanning the QR code below.
This guide was developed through the work of LUX Therapeutic Institute for Podology, an education initiative focused on practical, preventative foot‑health support for caregivers.

Local Nonprofit Provides More Than Pedicures By Ruth Ann Ruiz The Post Newspaper Features Editor When Bridgett came to Texas with her two daughters in 2019 to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family and help with her mother's recovery from pending knee surgery, she had no intention of founding a nonprofit that would provide medical pedicures....

The first step to reducing the occurrence of diabetic-foot, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and associated limb loss is AWARENESS!
People don’t know what they don’t know. This is why educating the public, and medical professionals alike, on key issues, preventative measures, and cutting-edge treatment options is so vital.
Thank you “Neighbors In Action” for allowing us to come out and educate the community you serve on the importance of good foot health and the signs and symptoms to look for that indicate the need to see a medical professional.
On October 17th, “Do As I Have Done” Humanitarian Outreach partnered with “Neighbors In Action” to provide education and awareness to some of our city’s most at risk individuals.
Coming out of Latin-American Heritage Month, we focused in on the increased vulnerability of the Hispanic community to conditions like diabetes and heart disease.
What a blessing to hear so many of those present come up after the event to state how much they learned and how grateful they were to be aware. They asked questions, took information, and are looking forward to coming back on November 7th to have their feet looked at and cared for by a professional.
Let’s continue this initiative by working together to raise awareness and offer treatment and resources to some of our city’s most vulnerable populations.
***Seeking volunteers (English & Spanish speaking podiatrists needed) for Nov. 7th from 6pm to 8:00pm in Port Houston!***

"Taking care of your feet is taking care of your well-being! 👣 In the Hispanic community, we are always on the move, whether it's working, dancing, or taking care of family."
Healthy feet are key to staying active and preventing long-term issues. Visit a specialist, wear proper footwear, and give your feet the care they deserve. For your health and for those around you, take care of your feet!

What a blessing to work with such good people, for such a good cause. Thank you to Galveston County Health District and to St. Vincent's House for allowing us to team up with you in an effort to meet the needs of the people in the communities we share in serving.

Happy Resurrection Day!!! God is SO GOOD! 🙌 We were so blessed to have been able to go out and be a blessing to others on this Easter weekend. The Word of God says (in Matthew 25:40 KJV), "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done unto me"..., so every person's feet were cared for and tended to as though they were the feet of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!
We want to express our deepest love and appreciation to Compassion United for being kind enough to invite us out to share in serving the community with them. I have had the opportunity to take part in several homeless outreach ministries..., yet I have never seen a group of people experiencing homelessness being loved on in such a way. Richard & Amy Bryant seemed to know each person by name, and the love demonstrated by them was beautifully reciprocated, as we witnessed those experiencing homelessness love, trust, and appreciate them in return. It truly felt like a family gathering. Thank you to Compassion United, and to you Richard & Amy for allowing the spirit to God to dwell within you, and for being such a blessing to others.
And thank you to ⚓Save Our Seniors who were kind enough to donate the brand new pairs of Bombas socks that were given to everyone we were blessed to serve.
We are looking forward to coming back out, developing a genuine connection with everyone out there at Lewis Park, and at The Chop, and to seeing how we can work together to meet even more of the needs of the homeless population in Conroe, TX.

"Words Walk with Actions"...
Saturday, March 9th out serving the homeless with Galveston Street Ministry (thank you Pastor Henson for allowing us to come out and serve along side you all). And thank you to Holcomb with Gulf Coast Outreach Service's for allowing us to share a table with you.
Unfortunately, it was too chilly out to wash feet, but we were still blessed to hand out 125 pairs of brand new Bombas socks to those who are truly in need. Thank you Jesus! & Thank you ⚓Save Our Seniors for your contribution of socks, making it possible for us to still meet a need despite the weather.
Did you know that one of the least common items donated to the homeless is "socks". They were SO grateful, and clearly the need is great because the socks we brought were gone in less than 7 mins.
We will be back out there next Saturday, March 16th, with more socks and blessing bags for the homeless filled with care items such as toenail clippers, fingernail clippers, nail files, bars of soap, and more.
If you have items that these individuals can use to help maintain their hygiene, health, or get them through the coming summer months..., PLEASE 🙏 reach out to us via Facebook Messenger or on our website @ doasihavedone.org or come out and volunteer with us to meet a need.
