Cypress Bluegrass Rising Group

Hi All:
You are invited to attend the FREE Bluegrass Music Knight Out (BMKO) Show and Jam on Friday night, May 8, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm. The show will be held at the Weekley Community Center, 8440 Greenhouse Road, Cypress 77433.

The show will feature two local area bands: Almost Heaven and Little Creek.

Almost Heaven is the “house band” that plays at most of the BMKO shows. They play a variety of bluegrass, country, gospel, and some “grassed up” 60’s tunes that a lot of people enjoy. This month Gary Aho and Linda James will be standing in for Mike and Jimmie Lehew who are out with medical issues. Gary plays bass and Linda sings lead and harmony vocals and plays rhythm guitar.

Little Creek is a very talented band with some very experienced members including Mike Adams on guitar and lead vocals and Scott Sylvester on banjo. They play bluegrass music with clarity and great energy. They will play a range of tunes from old favorites to fairly recent additions to the bluegrass genre. We look forward to their performance on the BMKO for the first time under the name Little Creek.

Jamming starts at 5 pm and the show will start at 6:30 pm. Refreshments (snack items, cold water, sodas, and coffee) will be available. The show is presented by Bluegrass Rising in NW Harris County. The flyer provides more details and photos of the bands.
