He gave over 15 years of love and loyalty, sitting by his only remaining family member’s side for several days after their passing. No one knew his daddy had left this world, and no one knew Rudy was left in the house to fend for himself.

When a neighbor suddenly realized they hadn’t seen Rudy or his dad in a while, they called the police; what they found was a heartbreaking scene.

Rudy was grieving, he never left his daddy side until that fateful day when he was taken to the shelter. He was sad, confused and the shelter was scary for him. And with no other family to care for this precious boy, the shelter in turn reached out for help.

Rudy’s world was turned upside down and we simply could not turn down their urgent plea.

We will do everything in our power to provide him with everything he needs and deserves, in order to live his remaining golden years to the fullest.

Owner passed away!!!!! Please help!!!! They belong on a couch being loved!!!

These are great dogs! They are happy fun and friendly! They truly love each other and we hope we can find them a home together, especially since they just lost their owner. Their owner has passed away.☹️ safari is spayed and bear is neutered. Both dogs are heartworm negative and healthy. They are listed as labby mixes. They are between three and four years old.
 Bear was surrendered to the shelter due to owners passing. He is a 4yr old lab mix. Bear is a very sweet boy that is reported to have "puppy like energy". Bear does well with all people and currently does not have any reported history with children. He does well with other dogs and has a very good history with cats. He is house broken and does well on a leash. Bear's favorite pass time would be running,getting cookies and playing with his sister Safari (A2439297).

Safari was barking at staff when first approached out of excitement. She wagged her tail and easily walked on the leash and let staff pet her after. - JP

14-FEB-25 - Note - Safari was surrendered to the shelter due owners passing. She is a 3 year old pit mix. Safari is a sweet girl that does well with all adults. She can be cautious of new people and at times will bark to let you know she either needs attention or a cookie. As of now there is not past history on how she does with children. She can be cautious of other dogs but will warm up to them. Safari has an excellent history with cats. She is in the process of still being crate trained, she will also jump on people when she is excited. Safari's favorite pass time is running, jumping and playing with her brother Bear (A2439299)
