Our 3rd Annual Songs For Heroes event is coming up in November in Nashville! For those of you who are new here, this three-day event will connect 10 songwriters with 20 local Heroes (Veterans & First Responders) to provide them with music therapy. The songs that will be written Nov 6th & 7th will then be performed for the first time in a live public concert on Nov 8th.

Our first songwriter reveal is a wonderful Texas artist, Rex Robards Music!

For Rex Robards, his music is a spiritual journey marked with highs and lows, much like his life. His songs are written in truth, and they uniquely tell his story.

In 2012, Robards began attending a small church in Freeport, Texas which houses men battling addiction. This was a familiar struggle in much of Robards’ early career in the Texas music scene, so naturally, he felt at ease in this environment. It was here that Robards realized God’s calling on his life and began the Music That Matters Concert Series, providing an avenue for artists to share faith-based, inspirational country music. This series led to Rex performing with artists such as Jeremy Camp, Aaron Watson, Brandon Heath, Bri Bagwell, and many others. It also led to a string of Top 10 hits on the Inspirational Country Music charts.

Rex and his band The Grateful, currently travel across Texas and beyond performing their own brand of inspirational country and blues, asking for nothing more than a willing listener.
