VERGI To The Rescue
05/16/2026
Hey lady...you keep yourself over there, OK? (see pic one!)
Howdy! I’m Blue and I bet you are wondering how I ended up in the animal ER. Well, I started vomiting and it just so happens that my dad noticed half of a pair of underwear. Neither he nor I know how or when *that* happened. He did seem pretty sure if one of us ate said un**es, it had not been him. Then he looked at me (shocker, I know) and said I was going to the emergency vet.
The team at VERGI took x-rays of my insides but didn't see an obvious obstruction. This may mean that the foreign body (underwear) may be making its way out naturally, or it may mean that it is simply not visible, or it may mean that I didn’t eat anything weird at all (probably not that last one, though.)
But Dad, if I'm the innocent one... 😏🧐
KIDDING, DAD! I love you! Plus just look at my face! (see pics 1 AND 2)
I was given an injection to stop the vomiting and some fluids to make me feel better. The doctor said it was ok for me to go home after that. Dad will watch me closely at home. I am supposed to cut back on my eating for a little bit and if I continue to vomit or become painful, I need to come back to VERGI for an ultrasound.
Dad is probably checking my poops, waiting to say I told you so!
Love, Blue 🐾

Cats are curious by nature… but sometimes our curiosity gets us into trouble!
A few days ago, I randomly found some pills on the floor and thought oh, I have a bit of an idea! 💡
Turns out, it wasn't one of my finest moments. The medication was a blood thinner called Eliquis. As soon as my family realized the error of my ways, they rushed me to the animal emergency hospital. They were pretty worried, and for very good reason.
The ingestion of blood thinners can be life-threatening pet emergencies. Because this medication is designed to prevent clotting, pets can experience significant internal bleeding if they ingest it.
The Critical Care Team at VERGI moved quickly to help me as soon as we arrived!
They got me to vomit, hoping that the pill(s) would come up. I threw up twice for them...but no pills.
My clotting times were checked to make sure my blood was still working the way it should. Thankfully, my tests were NORMAL!! ❤️
Perhaps I shall dial the ol' curiosity down a notch!
Love,
Owen 🐱 (who is very thankful for his family loving him so much!)
