Today, we’re spotlighting Susan Marriott, Ph.D., who brings the same courage and sense of adventure to life that she brings to leading our team.

Here she is outside the office… skydiving.

Susan’s willingness to leap (literally!) is one of many qualities that inspire our team.

We’re grateful for her vision and for the passion she brings to supporting the scientific community, both on the ground and in freefall.

Did you know National Institutes of Health (NIH) offers an often-overlooked funding mechanism that can boost an active project without requiring a full resubmission?

Administrative Supplements (PA 26 001) allow investigators to request additional funds for unanticipated needs, as long as the work stays within the scope of the parent award. These requests don’t require peer review, making them a faster path to securing support for emerging project needs.

This opportunity can be especially valuable when:
• New data require additional experiments
• Essential equipment fails
• A collaborator or trainee needs short-term support
• A new technology becomes available

If you haven’t considered this mechanism lately, it may be worth revisiting. Many investigators are surprised by how much flexibility Administrative Supplements can offer.

Meet Julie Edwards, our Director of Publication Services and someone our clients work with every day.

When she’s not coordinating projects, answering client questions, or ensuring every order moves smoothly, she’s giving back to her community. Here she is volunteering at a food drive, bringing the same kindness and dedication she shows our clients.

We’re lucky to have her. ❤️

Think of editing as an investment, not an expense. When you submit a grant proposal, you’re not just sharing your science. You’re competing for resources that can transform your research program.

A single NIH R01 award can bring in hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of dollars in funding. Yet, many proposals fall short because their message isn’t clear, consistent, or compelling. Reviewers notice when ideas are fragmented or when sections don’t align.

That’s where we come in. Our team of expert editors ensures your proposal speaks with one strong voice, highlighting your vision and impact. A small investment now can lead to extraordinary returns later.

When the stakes are this high, clarity isn’t optional — it’s essential.
