🔑 2025 Draft Form 1040 – Key Changes vs. 2024

1️⃣ Standard Deduction (OBBB change)
• 2024: $14,600 / $29,200 / $21,900
• 2025: $15,750 / $31,500 / $23,625

2️⃣ Wages Section Expanded
Line 1 now broken into sub-lines for: household wages, tips not on W-2, Medicaid waiver, dependent care, adoption benefits, Form 8919 wages, and “other earned income.”

3️⃣ New Schedule 1-A (OBBB)
Line 13b references a brand-new schedule for expanded above-the-line deductions.

4️⃣ Credits
• Refundable adoption credit added to Line 30.
• Child Tax Credit/ACTC tie directly to Schedule 8812.

5️⃣ Social Security
Checkbox for lump-sum election method (retroactive benefits).

6️⃣ Digital Assets
Updated crypto question — stricter compliance under OBBB.

7️⃣ Filing Status
New checkbox for MFS/HOH if lived apart from spouse last 6 months or legally separated.
