NOTHING IS IMPORTANT
WHEN EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT.
HAVE YOU EVER READ A POST OR TEXT WITH AN EMPHASIS ON EVERYTHING?
Well, you just did! So you can probably extrapolate and understand why so many professional women experience burnout and constant anxiety. Our lives are full of competing priorities, and when those include your family, career, and health, you can't just defer any given "to-do" to the next available time slot. Quitting our jobs and hiring additional support aren't always solutions.
Spending our time on what matters most isn't always easy.
So what can you do? With all of your personal competing priorities, some days you may want to quit
.. but don't quit!
Instead, join me at the upcoming Society of Women Engineers - Houston Area professional development event, where we will engineer visionary change in our daily lives.

❓No, I do not have a clone.
❔Yes, I do sleep. (For at least 7 hours each night!)
⏰ I generally wake up between 5:30 and 7 am each morning.
Howdy! I've received quite a few messages lately asking all sorts of similar questions.
For those wondering how I am able to help operators optimize their ROI: Return On , mentor interns, at my church's VBS program, spend time with my , and maintain my fitness I'll share my secret:
PRIORITIZATION
By knowing what my personal priorities are, I am able to protect what is important to me and ensure the most important things get done. It is so my priorities look a little different than the rest of the year, but my current five are:
1. Maintain my physical, spiritual, and mental and by waking up two hours before my family to exercise, write, read, and pray.
2. Spend quality time with my family.
3. Provide my clients with excellent, safe, and risk-informed ROI .
4. Mentor my interns.
5. Everything else: VBS, holidays, weddings, chores, errands, house stuff, personal development, PE CE hours, social media management, website updates, reading (leisure and business), and emergent items.

Repeat after me: "I give myself permission to be nurtured." Give yourself time to grow.
'Pedal to the metal' isn't always the best approach when applied to our lives. Constantly pushing to meet everyone else's expectations while juggling a bursting workload is a recipe for disaster.
Especially during the summer months, while the kids are out of school and routines are adjusted or abandoned altogether, I encourage you to enjoy the present.
This is reminder for you to take the time to nourish yourself in whatever ways you are most satisfied.
Growth takes time and comes in seasons.
You are precisely where you are supposed to be now.
