HELLO…………
Just to comunícate that PSA won’t be doing the international program in the Alicante area this year.
And also to clarify that we don’t have any business or personal relationship with the club “UD Rayo Ibense” or with their administrative staff as has been said on some social media sites.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST FOOTBALL ⚽ ACADEMY:
WEEK 1:
We want to open a door to aspiring pro-soccer players and their families to try and explain how to start looking for and choosing a good football (soccer) residential academy to help in taking the next step in your soccer career. 🥅
Going through the process with our own son, we learned that there's numerous academies out there which makes the search even more difficult. Internet advertisement, social media, websites are great venues to start this exciting journey, but remember, “not everything that shines is gold.” Be aware of empty promises. Some can give you what they offer, but most will not.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We are starting a series of posts that will walk you through the process and help you to research and plan that next step in your player's future. The journey is not something that you can just rush into-- if you really want to find the best fit. Some of the key points you have to consider: when and where to go, different programs available, coaching and training styles, academics, accommodations, and of course the health and safety of the players. Since it is quite a long list we'll break it down into 5️⃣ parts which we will post later this month.
👆 #1
Let's start with an overview of the process in general. Each academy may offer different services and programs which are often based on the age of the player, but this is what you can expect to do once you decide on where you want to go.
We start with this part, because we have found that a lot of people don't really understand the requirements for a player to truly go and play soccer abroad. ✈ You need to see the big picture and what lies ahead as you get started. Also keep in mind, a child under that age of 18, cannot just go to Europe and play for a club. FIFA has strict regulations regarding the residential requirements for youth players. A minor has to have his parents living with him in order to be registered in local federated club. In other words, if you want your 9 year old to go and play in Europe, you will have to move there too. 🏡
Students, aged 14 and up are the most common candidates and they can usually visit as a tourist for 3 months, but for longer programs they have to apply for a student visa. 🌍 Once a player turns 18, things change a bit, but that is why most programs offer some sort of study program to qualify players for a student visa. It is recommended to complete the visa process from the home country at the consulate or Embassy of the country you are planning to visit. Each country has slightly different requirements, but might include:
🏫School records and diplomas
👨⚕️Medical certificate-updated shots records
💲 Bank account statements/Proof of funds
✔ FBI records if the player is 18 or up
🩺 Health insurance from the country you're going
All documents translated and apostilled
Be aware of Government, FIFA, and country regulations and laws.

The academy will probably ask you to fill out a standard questionnaire of general information about the athlete along with questions about diet, restrictions and medical diagnoses. In must cases, a full medical examination is required. Also good academies require the student to provide a football CV and highlighted video clips of their games which allows for them to be selective in choosing the right players for their programs.
So go get busy compiling those clips 📹 and getting ready to decide where to send your video. We will be back next week with information on the types of academies and different programs they offer.
In the best-case scenario a personal referral is the prime way to start your journey. Actually talking to someone who has been there and done that. We started our Facebook Group to serve this purpose to begin the dialogue with players and families who have been down this road before. We encourage real feedback from our “Friends” to let us know about various options out there for players abroad. 🧿🧿🧿🧿PLEASE COMMENT BELOW IF YOUR CHILD HAS PLAYED IN AN ACADEMY AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE.🧿🧿🧿🧿
