Three ways:
1. Best: Leave the leaves -where they fall, that is nature's commandment. You could mow over them to shred into smaller particles and speed the composting process, but this is not necessary.
2. Rake the leaves into your beds and around trees to provide mulch which will eventually return nutrients to the soil. Drop kitchen scraps into your beds and cover with the leaves.
3. Start a compost pile -a wire bin, a tumbler, worm composting. Gather leaves, create a pile, mix 1 part green and 2 parts brown materials.
