✨Processed foods✨- they’re not all bad! Food processing is simply transforming food, whether is a simple or complex transformation. Some processed foods have more to offer us than in their unprocessed forms, such as fortified milk, cereal, canned tomatoes, and some frozen produce.
Because of this, be weary of advertisements or diets that advocate for “no processed foods” because more than likely, they’re wrong and even more likely, they’re too restrictive.
However, ultra processed foods, foods that are manipulated or have a lot of extra additives such as added sugar, sodium, and fats can increase risk for cardiovascular disease. Try to buy and eat foods in their most whole form, and minimize consumption of ultra processed and packaged foods!

Juices.... tisk tisk. Remember my sugar post? This is a good follow up.
Juice cleanses are so popular and it blows my mind. The human body was designed to “cleanse” itself. We use vital organs like our liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin to get rid of toxins and things we don’t utilize.
Juices are just a high-calorie, high-sugar, unfulfilling way to increase your blood sugar and have runny bowel movements for a couple days.
When juices are made, the fiber and most of vitamins and minerals are stripped from the concoction and thrown away. That’s the whole point of fruit! You might as well drink soda at that point. Not to mention, they’re SO expensive.
