Earlier this week, Aaron Reitz, Texas deputy attorney general, () called Simone Biles a "national embarrassment" for choosing her mental health and deciding not to compete in the Olympic finals. He compared her to Ker Strug's, a gymnast who battled her way through an injury 25 years ago to win gold. He stated "the great ones find a way." The great ones may find a way, ✨but the legends pave the way.
His comments were disgusting and blatantly biased. This comment would have never been made for a white athlete. We talking about the same people that wouldn't wear a mask to protect other people, but want Simone to possibly injure herself for the sake of a gold medal. And while he has apologized, he has spoken his truth.
And here's ours: We fully support Simone Biles and ALL black women who choose themselves. And we also say 🚨VOTE, VOTE,VOTE. Everyday these ELECTED officials show US how they feel about US. THEY.NEED.TO.GO.🚨
