I mean, it’s hard for me to believe that I have to post this, but after seeing a couple of Beachbody coaches (and a carnivore woman…but she’s getting her own video so stay tuned) getting way too involved with their kids bodies and nutrition, it’s not something I can hold my fire on.

A lot of us have insecurities around our bodies, but kids are born WITHOUT those. Please do not introduce them to all of the reasons why you hate your body.

Kids are natural intuitive eaters. But external influences- especially parents who diet and have messed up relationships with food - can have a lifelong impact on the way a child feels about food and eating, and even if they’ll grow up to be a dieter.
.
Putting your kid on a diet is one of the worst offences of all. It tells them that:
.
🚩They aren’t good enough the way they are.
.
🚩Only thin bodies are worthy.
.
🚩Food is to be feared.
.
🚩 Bodies are something we control.
.
Research shows that kids who are put on diets at an early age are more likely to grow up as dieter and have a higher risk for eating disorders.
Kids who watch their parents diet are more likely to diet themselves.
.
If you’re concerned about your kid’s weight or eating habits, please see an RD who specializes in kid’s nutrition. And if your fear of fatness is affecting your life and the lives of those around you, please get help.

Don’t weigh yourself around your kids, make comments about your body or theirs (or anyones), or restrict your food or theirs.

You literally hold their future in your hands.
