Unless you have been, it is very hard to explain the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to anyone and really do it justice. It truly is something that you have to experience to grasp the feeling that is Rodeo, but once you have, it’s like being a bull rider, you’ll hold on to it as long as you can. I remember my first cook-off and Rodeo like it was yesterday. It’s hard to believe it was 17 years ago. It was love at first sight.
My trips to NRG have changed over the years, from days at the Wine Garden to trips to the Ag Center with my daughter, but one thing remained, that amazing feeling you get when you step on the grounds. From the first sight of the trail riders to the final concert at NRG, as my daughter said, “it’s a vibe mom.” I am very lucky and blessed to still be a part of this event, and I am grateful every year to come back.
My life has changed a lot over the last almost two years, but going back to Rodeo always feels like home.

It’s been a crazy busy 48 hours but it had been so fun to see old old friends, talk about the Chevron Houston Marathon and be able to run in the We are Houston 5k!!! Race weekend is one of my favorites and I always cry when I cross the finish line because it reminds me we can do hard things 😀❤️ I can’t wait to see you all at the start line tomorrow!!!!
