Don’t fall into the trap of becoming a “human treat dispenser.” Reward delivery should be interesting and impactful. The goal with using a marker is for your dog to always get excited, anticipating that the marker is followed by a reward (or reward event)! It’s like knowing when payday is. 💰

Your marker isn’t JUST a sign your dog’s going to get a treat, it’s also a tool in your training toolbox. You need a strong marker to work through behavior issues like reactivity, fear, or anxiety. 👀

So keep your reward delivery interesting and engaging - that will improve your dog’s attention and strengthen your training overall!
