It’s been one whole year that I received my termination notice. Was it unexpected, no, not really. I knew the market was bad, I knew lay offs were happening, and I knew my being new to my new department I would be up for the chopping block especially due to my salary.

I gave that company just about 20
Years of my life. Put in the hours, put in the expectations, and put in a lot of teamwork and effort.

In the end it was a business decision and I understood that wholeheartedly. My only sourness was from the silence after so many years of what I thought was true family atmosphere and the people we thought were true friends and “family”!

I always planned for the unexpected and seriously thank the previous mom and pop owners for showing us how to prep and save for emergencies and their generous heart when they were the owners.

As I sit here and write this, I look back on this past year and see that it may have worked in my favor in some way. My Donny and I battling Covid together and then my other two battling Covid there was no way I could have done so much working.

I do know that it has made me stronger and has reinforced my hustle mentality. Created a small business, got my notary license, working on finishing my degree, and getting my real estate license. We have made it through this year no worse for wear and I was able to take time to finally be a full time mom and housewife as I lost so much time due to being tied down to my job. Some great vacations too.

It’s true what people say though. Don’t kill yourself for a job, that will replace you in a day even a few hours.

Wherever I end up they for sure will have one efficient, determined, and dedicated employee.
