Sea of Galilee
What was He like? The beat of His steps, the catch of His gaze, His laugh. His heart, it was poured out here. You watched Him build family on your soil. What did He dream of when He stood here, and soaked in the last bit of your light? I felt Him, in the thickness of your slow breeze. You know Him best and your wisdom is rich Galilee, you inevitably ooze His likeness. I’m listening; so tell me, what was He like? He walked upon your waters, calming them, to this day they know His name and still sway to the sound of His voice. There is no inch of this sea that wouldn’t point you to Him, exuding His warmth and kindness. Deep friendship is found here, in the heart of Galilee, the kind of friendship that reminds you to take deep breaths, and the kind that embraces you forgetting all of your wrongs. The remaining bit of the sun sets extra slow along these shores, as to be sure of soaking in every last second of His abiding presence.

“Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed”
What is the truth? In doubt, in uncertainty, in lack of control, in times of suffering, what is the truth? It is so easy to relate to Thomas during this time in our world. Not being able to believe that Jesus had risen and is alive just like He promised, unless seeing and feeling the physical wounds himself. For us, It can also become difficult to have faith, trust, and to remember that He is always with us and that He is in control but the truth is that Jesus IS always with us! He ALWAYS fulfills His promises. Jesus is merciful and alive, He is in control and He is so trustworthy. The truth is that He has never left us, and we are encouraged by His word to believe this without seeing. What a beautiful invitation into faith! The best news about this, is that truth is unchanging, solid, and sets us free. Through the sacrifice of Jesus and in relationship with Him we have access to be set free from fear and control and instead we can step into fully trusting Him, which leads us into a life of peace and joy! Jesus, even when we lack faith, and desire to control, help us to hold tight to your promises and accept the peace and joy that you offer us, through trusting in you every day of our lives.
