As a flood insurance agency, we focus on providing protection for loss of property. However, the recent catastrophic flooding in Kerr county reminds us that dangerous weather events can cause loss of life. We mourn for all of those who perished and those who are still missing. We pray for all of the families who are affected by the tragedy. Please keep them in your thoughts.

The National Flood Insurance Program is doing a system upgrade this week and will be back up and running on April 7, 2025. During this time, there is a nationwide blackout while they migrate data from one computer system to another. We have been promised a better user interface and more use capabilities.
What this means for us and policyholders: all work is on pause. There is no system access to quote, submit applications, make policy changes, enter endorsements, nor accept payments. Normal business will resume Monday April 7, 2025.
We regret any inconvenience.

What. A. (🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬) Week. While Hurricane Beryl was more destructive than I could’ve imagined as a Category 1, I am beyond relieved that it wasn’t a flood event and ALL of my clients are dry. But please remember that flood insurance must still be included in your hurricane prep kit.
If you haven’t purchased a policy yet, go to my website and fill out a flood insurance quote request form. You can’t afford not to.

Although we cannot be certain at this time, it increasingly looks as though Tropical Storm Beryl is on track to make landfall somewhere between Corpus Christi and Matagorda Bay on Monday. For the greater Houston area this will result in higher winds, some storm surge, and heavy rainfall, with the greatest impacts likely on Monday. This post goes into what to tentatively expect, and when.

June 1st marks the official start of hurricane season, though this spring has already been very active with damaging storms and floods. The NOAA predicts above-normal storm activity. Flood insurance takes 30 days to go into effect, so there is no more time to wait. If you don't have flood insurance, buy it ASAP.
