🐈 FERAL FRIDAY 🐈
When we’re out in the field doing TNR (trap-neuter-return), every cat needs a name so we can keep track of who’s who. We usually go with something descriptive, like “One Dot,” a white cat with a single black spot near his rear. Not to be confused with “Two Dot,” who had two. We’ve also had “Phantom,” named for her half-black, half-white face that looked just like a mask.
But when we named this cat “Charlie Chaplin,” there was no question which one we meant. Charlie was the final cat at a small colony west of the Cities.
Today, Charlie is at the clinic for surgery. Plot twist, Charlie is actually a she. Even more importantly, she was diagnosed with pyometra (an infection of the uterus), so we’re very glad she’s getting the treatment she needs along with her spay.
Do you name the colony cats you work with? We’d love to hear your favorites.
