Ah our beloved Spam Musubi. I like to call them my energy bars! Hahaha! Eat it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The quick on the go snack and what soccer moms bring to the kids games for the after potluck.

Get so much different kind Spam you can dress your musubi in. Of course the regular is still the best and you can put the shoyu sugar but I lie mine plain. Now I like to use the 25% less salt one because I getting old and have high blood pressure.

Do you like the half nori one or full wrap? What’s your favorite spam musubi? Let me know. Comment below 👇.

Your kids can learn SO much at Pearl Harbor in just one day! 🇺🇸🌺

Save this Pearl Harbor family guide for your next Oʻahu adventure because this isn’t just a sightseeing stop — it’s a full day of history, learning, and real-life stories kids can actually see and experience.

They can learn about World War II, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the USS Arizona Memorial, life aboard a battleship, what submariners experienced inside the USS Bowfin, how aviation changed history, and why we honor and remember the people who served.

From ships and submarines to planes, memorials, harbor views, museums, and powerful family conversations, Pearl Harbor is one of the most meaningful educational places to take kids on Oʻahu.

Have you taken your kids to Pearl Harbor yet?

Hawaiʻi families, hurricane season is here. 🌧️🌊

NOAA is forecasting an above-normal 2026 Central Pacific hurricane season, with 5–13 tropical cyclones possible.

This is not the time to get storm fatigued. With the recent Kona Lows which was not hurricane level and the devastation it caused, we really need to prepare now.

You can pack a go bag and keep that in the closet, stick up on water and non perishable food like peanut butter and crackers, canned soups, etc. which have a good shelf life.

You can put hurricane ties to your roofline to your house.

Make sure the outside of your house is clear of clutter and debris that can whip up and smash you or your neighbors windows and house.

Keep your vehicle gasses up as a storm approaches.

Walk your neighborhood and let your city reps know if there’s clogged waterways to go and get them cleared out to prepare for flooding conditions.

Hawaiʻi hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, so now is the time to prepare — not when the storm is already close.

✅ Make a family emergency plan
✅ Know your evacuation zone
✅ Build your hurricane kit
✅ Charge phones and power banks
✅ Secure outdoor items
✅ Keep water, food, meds, and supplies ready

Save this post now and share it with your family, friends, and neighbors. Being prepared can make all the difference.

There have been recently more and more lithium battery fires. Fires come from overcharging, using cheap replacement batteries, damaged or defective ones as well.

Once a lithium ion battery fire starts, it goes through a process of thermal runaway and will be on fire until it runs out of its own fuel source and catch nearby cells on fire as well repeating the process like a chain of firecrackers until they are all burnt out. There’s no stopping it. If you hear popping, hissing and smoke, get out! It’s about to go! Plus lithium battery fires can produce toxic gases Like hydrogen fluoride which is super dangerous and should never be breathed in.

So be careful with these batteries and heed the warnings and follow good charging habits. Stay safe! Fire safety starts with you!

A little Hawai’i trivia. I think we learn this in 4th grade Hawaiiana class with the Kupuna. Something that might interest the kids or your mainland friends coming to visit.
