Lenoir-Rhyne University has executed a purchase and sale agreement for the former Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary campus in Columbia, South Carolina. The buyer, South Carolina-based Clear Dot Charter School, plans to continue the property's educational mission and has expressed a genuine appreciation for its history and a commitment to helping future students understand and engage with its legacy.

The seminary's academic programs, students, faculty and operations are not affected. Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary continues to thrive as an integral part of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory.

Today we remember the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul. The church honors these apostles for their faith and for their willingness to follow the call of Christ. Their lives show us that God works through people with different gifts and different stories.
At LTSS, we give thanks for the ways their witness shapes our formation. Their example strengthens our trust in the God who calls and sustains the church.
May this feast renew our hope and deepen our commitment to faithful service.

This week, we are spending time with the South Carolina Synod at their annual assembly.

We were delighted to spend time with Southern alumni this evening, celebrating the relationships that continue long after graduation and the diverse ministries through which our graduates faithfully serve others.

Whether you are an alumnus or a friend of LTSS, you are an important part of the Southern family. We are thankful for the opportunities to strengthen these relationships. We’re here for the entirety of assembly if you’d like to stop by to say hi, share a story from your time in seminary, or connect us with a future seminarian, we would love to see you!

As the South Carolina Synod is in the midst of electing its next bishop, we invite you to keep the synod, its voting members, and all those discerning this call in your prayers. May the Holy Spirit grant wisdom and guidance throughout this important time.
