Rest in peace to "Splendid Song," a 3-year-old horse who died on a racetrack this week in Delaware.

Another unnamed 2-year-old horse also died at Saratoga Race Course in New York on Saturday, while at least two other horses ("Fireballin" and "Lovely Grey") were removed via ambulance from that same track the day prior, as temperatures hit 95°F outside. Also at Saratoga this weekend, a 3-year-old filly named "I Love Giraffes" fell, fracturing her hip.

Horse racing HURTS horses! When will people finally see that? Stop supporting this bloodsport!

If Minnesota Renaissance Festival’s advertised plans proceed, elephants will once again be transported hundreds of miles and forced to carry visitors repeatedly through loud, chaotic festival crowds until the end of September.

Forcing a large skittish animal to “work” amongst cars, bikes, buses, and pedestrians in a busy city street is an unnecessary risk to the horse themselves and to nearby people.

It's not romantic or "touristy fun." It's animal abuse.
