3GX Mental Performance Training

As a CMPC, my network is mostly online, but I try to meet up with connections when I'm in their area. Recently, I had the chance to hang out with these two soon-to-be CMPCs and it was great to chat about everything from life to advice on work-related situations!
Until next time!!!
For my birthday last weekend, I decided to run my first Hyrox ever in Las Vegas!
On Saturday, I ran mixed doubles with my buddy ole pal .krejci and on Sunday I ran my individual women’s pro singles race.
I went into Saturday rather nervous and anxious because this was a new platform for me. I’ve been doing a lot of research, mental prep, and studying how this race layout works but since I haven’t attempted it yet physically, I was a little more antsy than normal.
Lucky I had Scott show me the ropes during our doubles and all the fear just melted away. The stations were very comfortable for me and my running burned in the beginning but calmed down during the row. I felt rather confident going into my singles the next day.
Sunday approaches and I knew it was game time. Before I ubered myself to the venue, I did a mental exercise called “Uncomfortable Zone”, page 58 in my workbook. This exercise challenges you to push yourself out of your comfort zone by first asking questions like “What do you find that holds you back?” and “What pushes you out of your comfort zone?”.
When I was filling the exercise out, I knew what holds me back is comparing myself to others and what pushes me out of my comfort zone is sprinting hard knowing the distance of the runs.
This exercise made me realize that comparing myself to others only makes me forget about my race plan and not focus on what truly matters to me. It also made me realize that if I worry about the distance of the runs, I will accidentally sabotage my race before even crossing that start line.
When I got to the venue, I was all smiles and all anxiousness seemed to leave my body. No matter what time I finished at, I was going to be proud of myself for doing it, and doing it right!
Can’t wait for my next Hyrox race, but up next is the Las Vegas Spartan in March! It’s about time for a mud run!

Had a blast racing the full Prickly Pedal mtn bike race last weekend to start the 2025 race season off right! After 36 miles through the desert, I came out with a 🥇!
The first 15 miles was amazing but the most challenging. It was a cold start but it warmed up rather quickly! The ups, just kept going up, which made it hard to catch my breath at first. The downs were technical with big loose rocks and turns that were covered in deep sand, making it challenging to keep momentum going.
Mile 15-30 was flat and fast! I was able to catch my breath, clear my mind, and just enjoy the sun for a while.
Mile 30-36 was something else let me tell you….the trails got technical again with lots of hill climbs and steep downs that my thighs were cramping so bad that it was challenging to find any typeof power in my legs. I really…I mean REALLY had to dig deep with keeping the demons out of my brain space.
I use a 3GX exercise called “Signal Zones” where I identified my feeling and thought like a traffic light 🚦. Was I in the red 🛑✋🏼? Meaning was I so bad I had to stop. No…okay next step is was I in the green ✅? Meaning do I feel so good to keep pushing super hard? Nope! Last step…was I in the yellow ⚠️? Yes, I could keep going but I should yield hard attempts but proceed with caution. This means I stayed consistent but if I needed to walk some hill climbs, I wasn’t going to beat myself up for it. I gave myself some grace and I finish not as strong as I hoped but I was able to still be the first girl to cross that finish line.
Goal accomplished 😬
Can’t wait for Hyrox Las Vegas! I get to do a co-ed rave with .krejci on my birthday on 2/1 and my single race the day after on 2/2. See everyone there!

2025 race schedule is officially locked in!
After taking a break last year, this year looks a little lighter than normal and a bit random from the typical races I run. When I first started racing OCR, I had three major reasons behind racing every weekend…
1. To get better at something, I believe throwing yourself to the wolves is the best way to learn what your body can do and what the mind can handle. From there you understand your base and learn how to grow past those limits.
2. I got into competitive racing again after college basketball because of my profession. As most of you know, I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant which is just a fancy way of saying I am an overqualified and academically educated Mindset Coach. When I was looking for a sport to spend most of my time enjoying myself and also helping others get to their goals, OCR/Hybrid seemed to be the sport that everyone talks about how important mindset is for their race journey. After pouring my heart out, being vulnerable and informative, willing to be that extra helping hand anyone needed, I’ve learned most people use these races to mask their problems and they never really want to actually talk about the real issue at hand. As much as I want to help people get out of their own head and race at their full potential, I need to step away from my typical venues and find a clientele that values the services that I provide. I’m not saying this is everyone, but my business isn’t surviving off the small population I am working with at this moment. I am VERY appreciative of everyone I work with now and I can’t wait to see yinz crush this 2025 year!
3. Racing while RVing used to be easy before everything turned into a race series. I used to follow the Spartan and Savage races while traveling but the last couple years turned into flying to races and not being able to even enjoy the locations I RVed at. Plus, I don’t want to keep RVing in the same locations every single year. RVing was to explore what our amazing country has to occur and the races series limited that adventure. So now depending where we RV, I look for local races that are only minutes away, a redefined adventure.
Stay tuned…
