Gold has been found in many places in Nevada, and they are marked in this map in yellow. Few people know, but Nevada produces millions of ounces of gold every year from big operating mines in the state. Yet there are plenty of places where a prospector can pick up a nugget or two as well. I have detected here a number of times in what most prospectors would call the "Rye Patch" area.
